Found in the leaves and seeds of many different plants, ferulic acid is a naturally occurring phytochemical that is particularly popular in skin care formulations.  Our Ferulic Acid is synthetically derived, which is the most common form used in cosmetic formulations.

Used in the formation of yeast for beer brewing, as a precursor to vanillin (synthetic vanilla flavoring), among other things, ferulic acid's most significant properties are found in its effects on the skin. This powerful antioxidant destroys free radicals, which are naturally occurring molecules in the human body that destroy nearly every cell they encounter. Free radicals in the body increase as humans age and oftentimes contribute to physical signs of aging, which is why ferulic acid is a very popular ingredient in anti-aging cosmetics.

While the formulation is patented, ferulic acid has been found to help stabilize and preserve L-ascorbic acid cosmetic formulations (we also sell L Ascorbic Acid, which can be found here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/123709478476).  It is also frequently used in formulations with vitamin E to act as a preservative as well as an antioxidant. Research has indicated that ferulic acid may also help protect the skin from sun damage.

Ferulic acid should be formulated at a 1% concentration. It is soluble in ethanol, propylene glycol, dimethyl isosorbide, distilled water (warm), and ethoxydiglycol. Our ferulic acid has been assayed at 98+% pure.
